Lines: 6 Speaking of screen blankers, there is (at least) one (brnout) that claims to turn off the video rather than simply changing the foreground color (and background as well if necessary) to black. I would like to use it but it warns against the possibility of damage especially with a Hercules card. I have an IBM 8514 card and monitor; I contacted IBM to see if this hardware procedure is safe, and I got back the advice to simply turn down the contrast if I want to blank the screen... Does anybody know if it would be safe to use brnout with this system? Carl Riehm.
