The company for which this prospective business operations package is for will be a service type company. The system will need to keep track of cost billing on a per-job basis. Things like labor expended, material cost, overheads and fees charged, etc. all need to be stored in a database and reported in a variety of ways. The system will probably need some tweeking to customize to our application, but it's all pretty basic stuff - there shouldn't need to be that much done. The area that will probably require the most tweeking would be the reports and inquiry options. The system will probably work something like this: each job will have a tracking number assigned on initial entry which will then be used to update the status of that job (labor, material, whatever). How did the system you wrote work? Do you think it would be suitable for something like this? BTW - payroll would most likely not be handled by this system; although, the labor hours used for billing might somehow be transferred to the payroll system. I'm not sure. john -- ---{john hayes} Old Dominion University; Norfolk, Virginia USA internet: aiko@cs.odu.edu Home: (804) 622-8348 Work: (804) 460-2241 ext 134 <++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++> Are you a Have or a Have_Not?
