The Smalltalk/V book is an excellent introduction to Smalltalk. It is also extremely well organized. The Smalltalk-80 books I've seen are poorly organized by comparison. Nevertheless, Smalltalk/V is not exactly the same as Smalltalk-80 and the book is small, so it cannot cover the advanced topics in detail. -peter madany
