Yes, but you need to take into account the fact that the power from japanese wall sockets is 100 volts rms, rather than the 120 volts rms that is common in Canada and the US. There is a possiblity that you might be able to get the Amiga 500 to operate eventhough you are only feeding its power pack 100 volts, but the DC voltage regulator will have much less headroom to handle brown-outs, etc. It would be best to use a step-up transformer with the computer; transformers are available in the electronics district of Tokyo, etc. Japanese TV is compatible with the North American NTSC broadcast standard, thus one might be able to pick up a monitor in Japan for use with the Amiga.
