Here in Israel customs tax on TVs are very high, on computer equipment they are much lower. A monitor with a composite video input is considered a TV set for tax purposes. So the importer of the Amiga monitor simply disconnected the video jack. When using the monitor only with the Amiga connected via the RGB cable, you'll never notice this.
