Portal is a public access BBS with access to USENET, and is reachable through
PCP (a service of TeleNet).  It costs $10 a month, lets you read and post to
USENET, has meetings (like conv on UNIX), several SIG groups, and is really
quite reasonable.  The PCP pricing change may drive them to bankruptcy though
