I've had no trouble using an Apple Personal modem with a //c and Kermit-65 (the SSC driver). As I recall, The Apple modem (which I've always thought under featured and over-priced -- the one I've used belongs to a friend) doesn't have configuration switches but acts the same as a real Smartmodem with the standard factory settings (in particular DTR and CD 'true'). The most common cause for Kermit not working with Hayes compatible modems (using an SSC with interrupts enabled) is either CD or DTR not being set to 'true.' I know others use Kermit-65 with the IIgs port driver and Hayes modems. Have you been able to get your copy of Kermit to work with another modem (possibly your copy of Kermit or the IIgs driver has become corrupted)?
