The graphics are much nicer with a 24 pin printer than on a 9 pin. These days, the prices are low enough on some 24 pin printers that there is practically no reason to buy a 9 or and 18 pin printer. I got my Epson LQ 500 for $349 and I've seen it cheaper since. I don't know much about the Panasonic, but from what I've seen and heard it is a very nice printer. It might be better than my Epson. I think PC magazine or one of the other PC mags did a review on printers a while back and they rated the Panasonic editor's choice. You might look around for that magazine and check it out.
