Well, it ain't about ATs, but the book 

"Interfacing to the IBM Personal Computer", Lewis Eggebrecht
(pub Howard Sams).  about $17 list.

is the only one I've been able to find (other than the Vectra Technical
References) that has hardware details.  Even though this book is about the 
original 8-bit PC, musch is the same (e.g. 8-bit slot pinout).

I've seen this at book at mall bookstores, such as B. Dalton, etc.
