Since the UB card has only the thick-type connection, I tried connecting it with an HP ThinMAU, but neither the net nor the RT seem happy with this arrangement - the TCPIP startup gives me "009-005 Physical link control experienced an unusual network condition", and meanwhile, the network is going crazy with "ie0: packet received with XXX bit cleared" appearing on Suns. This occurs even with the RT powered down (but all cabling connected). Question: Should this work? Should I suspect a bad part (the thinMAU?) or is this hopeless, and I should go dig up an IBM (logo) adapter box? Thanks--- John -- ................................................ They are in the Bay area I think. -- Dan Ehrlich | Disclaimer: The opinions expressed are The Pennsylvania State University | my own, and should not be attributed Department of Computer Science | to anyone else, living or dead.
