Message-ID: <730@eutrc3.UUCP> Date: 15 Jun 89 19:16:10 GMT Reply-To: rcbaem@eutrc3.UUCP (Ernst Mulder) Organization: Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands Lines: 38 After deliberately waiting a long time, I finally upgraded from System 5.0 to System 6.0(.2) But now I finally did it. BUT>>> Everything seemed to work fine. Nice the new Disk Copy window, nice to be asked soo many questions before formatting a disk ;) Nice to have programs working now, that didnUt work with the older System. I might want Nisus one day :) BUT>>>> Okay, not nice to have programs that DID run on 5.0 but wonUt now. Hmm maybe itUs a bit presumptious (is that the right spelling?) to claim the plural, but I have a terribly nice program which I love a lot that WON'T run. Oh well it does run. But not as much as I would like it to do. I'm talking about the Switcher. I happen to prefer it to the MultiFinder. When I startup the Switcher everything looks fine, when I start an Application from within it, everything looks fine. When I try to select the Menu bar from within that application, I get a CRASH ID=03. I tried putting the old MDEF into the System, didn't help. I tried enlarging the System Heap, didn't make any difference. Couldn't think of anything else to do. Can anyone (Some bright person @Apple maybe?) tell me what goes wrong? I really would like to be able to work with the Switcher. What BTW is the difference between the old and the new MDEF? Only a few bytes differed as far as I could see. Or has MDEF got nothing to do with it at all? (I'm not (yet) a programmer you know?) If someone knows anything I might try to solve this one (except for the obvious 'try your old system again') please mail your response directly to me. BTW, if nothing works, can I have more than one System on my HD? I am: Ernst 'pooh' Mulder, RCBAEM@EUTRC3.uucp RCBAEM@HEITUE51 @HEITHE5 (bitnet) RCBAPOOH@HEITUE1 Regards, Ernst. >
