I bought one such cable from M.A.C. in northern California.  Once
I received it, the peripheral I was using with it would not work.
I ended up taking it apart and switching three wires around, using
IM IV as a ref.  After my little modification, it worked fine.

I called M.A.C. up and told them my story.  The voice on the phone
said something like, "Oh yah, the guy who built your cable was new."

So, where is my discount?
