I try to ensure that the cache is flushed on a read by alternatley reading from a large file. I have made this alternate file very large (32,000 Kbytes). I am not convinced that this has any affect when I am trying to read a file that is 100 - 1000 K. If any one can suggest a way of flushing the cache I'd appreciate it.
