I have been involved in beta testing the Meiko FORTRAN compiler
under Helios.  This is a native compiler which runs on the
transputer.

So far my response is fairly positive, I have been porting a very
large analysis code from the VAX.  Though Meriko FORTRAN is not
VAX FORTRAN, you can always integrate C functions into the
FORTRAN.  I hjave been able to handle most of the porting
problems this way, and would be happy to make those functions
available.
