On other machines I set up an "init" macro in my .netrc file in order to do the setup automatically. Specifically, I have the following in the .netrc file: machine xxxxx login yyyyy password zzzzz macdef init ) binary ) <--- This stuff does not work. prompt ) machine wwwww and so on. The ftp command under Ultrix 3.0 does not seem to recognize the macdef in my .netrc file. Macdef does work if I use it at the ftp prompt.
