Message-ID: <25580@agate.BERKELEY.EDU> Date: 18 Jun 89 04:47:24 GMT Sender: usenet@agate.BERKELEY.EDU Lines: 21 My "naive user" question is not of netwide interest, so please reply by mail to SQUASH@MATH.BERKELEY.EDU I currently read news in UNIX using the rn command. I would *like* to read news in EMACS. How do I do this? When I type M-x rnews a series of messages flash by in the minibuffer. The only one I can read says Prefrobnicating and the names of many news groups flash by in the (inverse video) mode line. Then I see in the minibuffer: No news is good news. But there *IS* unread news. If I C-x C-z and then type rn there is news for me to read. Does anyone have a guess as to what I need to do to fix this problem? jonathan king
