Why? Since most of this code has been publically posted, it's in the public domain, and applying conditions on its distribution (which *you* can do yourself -- it's public domain, after all) is sort of pointless. Also, while I like the fact that RMS is writing neat stuff, I'm sort of annoyed with his idea that everyone is *obligated* to use Gnu-style licensing.
