Ideally (for me), blank space at the end of the message should be eliminated at send time before appending the .signature file, a special ``--'' line would be further added if not already present at the beginning of .signature. I did something similar a few times already, in some Emacs versions on a few machines, but it think it would be nicer if it was part of the standard distribution, would'nt it?
