I just brought up nntp and believe that it works (it isn't talking with anything else, but I can telnet to it and it seems to work right). The problem I have in gnews is that when I start it via M-x Gnews, it hangs in gnews-process-accept-output. I actually suspect a bug in emacs dealing with sockets. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem really is? I'm running pretty much stock gnews 2.0 (the later version from ucbvax). -- James R.
