rec.guns is a moderated newsgroup.  When you post something there,
your article is automagically turned to mail and sent to the
moderator.  If the moderator deems it appropriate, {s}he will arrange
for it to appear in the newsgroup, at which time it will be widely
distributed, and you will see it back on your home system again as a
normal-looking news article.
