To the best of my knowledge, I'll list the following new fighters with their unique features. However, some of them need some help : Country Fighter New features status ======= ======= =========================================== ====== France ACX/ACM Voice command, twin M88-2 engines testing on ACM is the carrier version of ACX Rafael(?) Europe EFA(?) Joint develop. of German, Britain,Italy ??? India LCA ???(possibly a modified MiG-29) ??? Iseral Lavi sophisticated, integrated cockpit cancelled Japan FS-X modified F-16D (AFTI/F16?) just started Sweden JAS39 ??? single F404 crashed once Taiwan IDF a blend of F-16 and YF-17, twin TFE-1042 test flight AN/APG-67 US F-12 vector thrust(?), ??? develop. USSR ??? ??? ??? Most, or all of them are equiped with fly-by-wire, composite materials, look down/shoot down radar and active homing AAM. It looks like needing a lot of help. Can some one briefly describe the unique features of each fighter, or the development philosophy behind them? Tzung-I Lin UCLA Computer Science
