My understanding is that the modem is supposed to respond with CONNECT when it establishes a connection with the called system. This in fact is what happens about 1/2 the time. The rest of the time, the modem responds with a string of about 40 U's, even though it has established the connection. In both cases, the same destination modem is being called. This problem causes my uucico to fail half the time, so any suggestions as to the cause would be appreciated. Thanks, John Alsop
