Yes I am very glad to be getting array processing, however, I definitely do agree that the addition of modules and derived types are probably even more important (in fact, array processing can probably be thought of as a special case of derived type operator definition and handling). (NOT directed at Walt Brainerd --- he seems quite sensible) As I pointed out to the committee last summer, we need Fortran to be _innovative_, not just slightly improved (or young physicist, like myself, will go elsewhere).
