I would be grateful to know of the existance, suitability, availability and potential cost of any Unix based design systems or toolsets, that have already been used for undergraduate teaching. Potential contacts for each system would also be most useful. I am already aware of Electric, Magic and OCT but would still be interested in further comments on these systems as well. Are there any other potential systems I should be investigating. The software should be capable of addressing the following VLSI areas: 1) Circuits and Systems 2) Testing 3) Architectures 4) Automated Design incl. languages (Silicon compilation) Please reply by e-mail and I will endeavour to summarise the responses I get for the network.
