If you specify a destination that starts with a pipe symbol and you pass it off to sendmail, sendmail objects saying it's not allowed to deliver to a process. In general I would agree (especially if it's a privilaged account), but since this is an alias that only I could use (assuming the program isn't set-uid) so I can't forsee any more problems than would occur with standard Berkeley mail. I've not looked at the code (not had enough time really), but I assume it wouldn't be a complex change. This is really a low priority enhancement request. It just is a little annoying that I have to use Berkeley mail for this and elm for everything else. If anyone can point out a way in which this can be done under elm, I would be most interested.....
