Well, I can tell you that I've had an ST506 (IBM) hard drive that has a serious cricket sound to it. Butu I've been using it for a few years and never had a problem. On the other hand, some IBM service guys mentioned that it might be the bearings dying a slow death. I could be wrong, so talk to Supra. - Bear
