A friend of mine just did so. You can even do it by phone (he did) -- he got the number from 913 information (Kansas). By the way, the current subscription price is $28 not $24. A subscription on 3.5 disks is also available (for about $86 I think). The disk subscription includes the paper copies, the same text on disk and assorted goodies every month to fill the disk to 800K. (Goodies are usually public domain or shareware programs, but have included fonts, apple techinical newsletters, etc.). NOTE: To take advantage of the $99 (if you don't already own Appleworks) "upgrade" or the $79 upgrade (if you own Appleworks but are not registered with Claris). You MUST be a subscriber -- Claris will be checking the name on the order against a list of subscribers -- getting a sample isssue is NOT sufficient. By the way, registered (with Claris) Appleworks owners will get an upgrade offer directly from Claris. It is supposed to cost the same $79, but does not require sending in an original Appleworks disk. Final note: Claris has postponed shipping version 3.0 until late August because of bugs. Regardless of the offer, I highly recommend A2-Central. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jim Block jib@prism.TMC.COM {mit-eddie, pyramid, harvard!wjh12, xait, datacube}!mirror!prism!jib Matthew Bender Inc, 11 Penn Plaza, NY, NY 10001 (212) 216-8018
