I have a buddy with a Apple gs.  He apparently ran a static charge through
the joystick port and now the gs thinks the Open Apple key is on all the
time, even with the joystick unplugged.   

His friendly neighborhood Apple dealer offered to replace the
motherboard for only $212.00, but I suspect that someone in netland can
suggest what may be wrong, (ie what chip, maybe?) and suggest a cheaper
fix than the Apple dealer.

Any takers?
