Twice now it has failed to come up when I turn it on. The problem is clearly audible -- usually it spins for a few seconds, then gurgles a bit, presumably as the head moves into place. After the gurgling stops I can turn on my ST and it autoboots. When the problem strikes, the disk starts to spin but nothing happens -- no further sounds, and when I turn on the computer it boots from a floppy without my having to play with the keys, just as if the HD didn't exist. Any ideas? I will call Supra of course, but the problem is an erratic one and I would hate to do without for several weeks while they fail to find anything wrong! -- Bill Silvert, Habitat Ecology Division.
