Design Div. -ColoSpgs Lines: 11 If this is a Seagate drive mech, there were problems on some of their drives with stiction (the tendency of two smooth surfaces to stick together), in combination with a lack of torque in the drive motor. A friend of mine had this happen to his drive in a PC. He would get it to start by picking up the case and spinning it slightly along the axis of the drive motor (which would break the stiction bond between the head and the platter). It doesn't take much of a twist to break the head loose (20-40 degrees). Do you park the heads on your drive when you shut it down? Dave
