Since you qualified your request with "PD/shareware" you probably don't want to hear that the MKS Awk package includes both large and small model versions with 8087 support (the MKS Toolkit Awk is small model, no 8087 only). The list price is $99.00 and includes _The Awk Programming Language_ book. You probably want PC Gawk the PC port of Gawk, the awk clone from the Free Software Foundation. The PC Gawk that I have is Version 2.02e. By now there may be a newer version (if there is, I'd like to get it - can/will anybody help?). It is compiled using MSC V5.1 large model. Presumably this means it can handle very large scripts/data - I wouldn't know I've not written any awk scripts of such monumental size yet. regards, Larry -- Signed: Larry A.
