I don't quite know if they don't burn in the machines at the factory or rather they figure that the user can do this and save them the time and the money. As we have several of these screamers around here, most have had small bugs during the first 100 hours of operation - one had a SIMM module go, another a monitor, another a disk drive - all of which was rapidly and happily replaced by the company.
