The comment said something to the effect that the code is assured to work until the year 2100.. Funny, but I didn't expect such a machine was still going to be around (it was written in assembler with some pretty strange parts in it, which might make it difficult to port) -- but then again, with IBM... Speaking of date codes being trashed after a while... I ported a program for Nordskog last year.. They were using a TRS-80 model 4, and it refused to have a date past 1986 ! It was really confusing to see the date and time, as some files really were dated then and others were really past that date. Some disks that were labeled "backup" were being used as the primary copy. Porting the program wasn't too bad except for the control characters that appeared in the code (so that when you viewed it on the 64 column screen, it was indented). Transferring the 150 data files took a bit of time, since I could only get reliable transmission across on the RS232 port at 300 baud. One thing I found to be irritating was having to change the DATA statements for the program that I hacked out to automate the transfer of the datafiles (I couldn't figure out a nice way to get the directory info on the disk -- sending the directory info to a file then reading the file was out of the question on some disks as they had no space left). //-n-\\ Naoto Kimura _____---=======---_____ (abcscnuk@csuna.csun.edu) ====____\ /.. ..\ /____==== // ---\__O__/--- \\ Enterprise...
