Keywords: floppy drive, identify Message-ID: <1989Jul6.174418.23855@sun.soe.clarkson.edu> Date: 6 Jul 89 17:44:18 GMT Reply-To: kweeder@sun.soe.clarkson.edu (Jim Kweeder) Distribution: usa Organization: Clarkson University, Potsdam, NY Lines: 24 Today, I present the week's mystery part (or device for which the documentation is lost [no, it isn't stolen]). I've come into possession of some sort of 5.25" floppy drive. Here's the info: Hitachi Type: HFD516C1 P/N: 66X2603 E/C: A38167 The only thing I'd like to find out is whether it's a 360K or 1.2MB drive. I can just install it, tell the BIOS it's a 360K drive, and then see if a torrent of errors insue. Then again, the computer may just accept it and merrily create corrupted discs. Any ideas would be appreciated. E-mail prefered. Thanks, Jim Kweeder kweeder@sun.soe.clarkson.edu
