A friend of mine recently purchased a Mac Plus with a second external 
3.5 inch drive. There are times when the external drive emits a high pitched
whine when the disk is being accessed. It doesn't happen on all 
disks or even at all points on the same disk. There is also no noise
on any disk used in the internal drive.

Anybody have any ideas?
