He's found an ad from MacLand, a mail order house, for a 40MB, 19ms access Quantum drive for $649. He thinks it is their private label packaging of the drive. He's asked me to check if this is a good deal. Does anyone have anything to report on MacLand or on prices for 40MB drives? He's been told that Quantum drives are the best and that Seagate aren't quite as good. He's also been considering drives by CMS, La Cie, and Peripheral Land. Any advice will be appreciated. Since this has probably been discussed many times on the net, please reply by mail.
