I helped a friend purchase an OGIVAR (from Canada) 286 40 MB 3.5" gas
plasma display with two slots (plus a modem slot) and parallel and
serial ports.  It is a Toshiba analog at about $2,000 less and he 
got it for <$2,400 through a mail order company.  Works great and has
a special facility for the use of the extended French character set, 
which can toggle to American (default).  He got it out of New York, and
he called and haggled over their 800 number.  It included cables and special
carrying case, and some free software (basically your choice) that the 
company installed on his hard disk before shipping (ca. $500 value).
[NB: I do not endorse that policy.  It is piracy.]

After shipment, the company responded immediately to all queries in a 
very satisfactory manner, and there has been absolutely no mechanical
or technical problem with the machine (switchable power supply_)
after extensive travel to Europe, Russia (er...Soviet Union) and China
(no, he is not a spy...I don't think!).
