Summary: Using TELEBIT, bandwidth shrinks if inactive (only on long distance) Keywords: telebit, modem, long distance, phone, bandwidth Message-ID: <1370@uceng.UC.EDU> Date: 2 Jul 89 13:37:51 GMT Followup-To: mfinegan@uceng.UC.EDU Organization: College of Engg., Univ. of Cincinnati Lines: 8 References: Does anyone have an explanation for bandwidth shrinking on long distance calls? The result is a long delay in transmission after a period of inactivity has ended, and data transmission continued. Is there a way to open the bandwidth back up without sending gobs of "NULL" data to keep it open (avoiding any delays from emptying the buffer)? Thanks for any ideas!
