Martin Chavez) Organization: Aiken Computation Lab Harvard, Cambridge, MA Lines: 17 I'm trying to preview TeX output via Preview on my NeXT machine. I've installed the dvips patches, but I have a small problem: the resulting previewed bits look terrible. I'd like to work at 92dpi (the screen resolution), then later work with the printer. I've modified the 'nextscreen' mode in waits.mf to indicate 92dpi, not 100. Now I'd like to produce a plain.base. I think that I ought to include plain.mf and waits.mf in the plain.base, but I must be missing something, because gftopk doesn't generate pk files at the proper magnification. (I've already hacked MakeTeXPK to accept 92dpi and to invoke Metafont with a mode of 'nextscreen'.) Can anybody out there help? Regards, R. Martin Chavez Stanford University School of Medicine
