Message-ID: <1830001@hpccc.HP.COM> Date: 30 Jun 89 21:55:22 GMT Organization: HP Corporate Computing Center Lines: 120 Hello A/UX dp gurus. I'm stuck...I can't get dp to write changes out to my dataframe xp150 to configure the partitions for A/UX. My configuration: Stock Mac IIx with color 80meg internal apple drive xp150 @ SCSI 4 SASH for A/UX 1.1 installed and running SASH from xp150. sash# dp /dev/rdsk/c4d0s31 "/dev/rdsk/c4d0s31" 8 partitions, 8 allocated 304604 blocks I can successfully update the partitioning info via dp. BUT when I attempt to write the changes with the w command, dp aborts with the following error: Command? w Disk c4d0s31 Error: Illegal request, code = 0x20 generic disk c4d0s31 Error: Logical block 1, physical block 1 dp: write of dpme's failed /dev/rdsk/c4d0s31: I/O error Exiting due to error(s) I don't know why I gt asked about Cluster's (or what else to put in) when updating the BZB field. I also wonder about this: >ABM Field? i >Warning: output file is not whole disk >Initialize map anyways? n If I type a y here I get a message similar to the one when I attempt a w. Should I be running SASH from a floppy? Should the SASH partition on the 150 be unmounted with the rest of the other partitions? Thanks in advance David "Gee, will restoring from tape be this much fun?" Williams %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% David L.
