  I too am in the position of having HP's version of X,
and wishing I could use imake -- but a look at the imake
source and documentation convinced me it was just way too
much trouble to understand.
  If anybody has usable instructions on how to make imake
work on HP's X11, I'd be delighted if you could send me a
copy.  Maybe something like that would even be worth posting.
