Keywords: alias group mail .mailrc Message-ID: <2165@turbinia.oakhill.UUCP> Date: 26 Jun 89 22:45:42 GMT Distribution: na Organization: Motorola Inc. Austin, Tx Lines: 20 I have started using the Emacs mailer and was surprise today when one of my mails was rejected by sendmail. I thought the Emacs mail understood aliases, since it states that it reads the .mailrs looking for them. So as I have done with /usr/ucb/mail, I used an alias for the To: field. Well it turns out what I thought was an alias was on a group command, so Emacs mail just pased it along. I have lines in my .mailrc like: alias somebody bubba@cowtown alias another joebob@rodeo group cowboys somebody another Is this a bug that Emacs mail ignores the group statement or do I need to change all my group to alias lines? They do basically the same thing, but group is a bit more descriptive. Setup: Sun3/60 OS3.5 GNU EMACS 18.51 Alan Bair UUCP cs.utexas.edu!oakhill!turbinia!abair
