here's what happens when you run the c compiler after installing vers 0.9:

 The current licensing agreement with the Free Software Foundation
 prevents NeXT from completely installing the C compiler. We hope
 to resolve this before the 1.0 release.
 
 To complete the installation of the C compiler, please run the command:
 
      installcc

i guess NeXT has lawyers too.
