My newsreaders (vnews and readnews) have suddenly started choking on
my .newsrc file, issuing warning messages about 'resetting last message
read from X to 1.  This is not happening on all newsgroups--only the
last 8 or 10 at the very end of the file.  Help appreciated.  Thanks
