Message-ID: <1673@neoucom.UUCP> Date: 3 Jul 89 15:59:37 GMT Organization: Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine Lines: 24 Hi, We have some low-level electrophysiology amplifiers that have remote preamps. The trouble is that the connectors from the preamp to the main unit use connectors that have machined aluminum threaded bodies. The problem with the connectors is that the connectors must be frequently re-mated to quell 60 Hz pick-up. (By frequently, I mean one or more times per day.) I thought I might try putting cramolin contact treatment on the connector shells to see if that helps. Unfortuantely, our state contract electronics vendor doesn't carry cramolin, and in fact hasn't ever heard of it. Does anybody know a place to order cramolin? Also, I've been told by old-timers that it comes in both red and blue colors. What, if anything, is the difference between red and blue. I've only seen the red stuff. Perhaps this posting would have been better off in the audio-tweakaphile news group??... Thanks much, Bill wtm@impulse.UUCP or wtm@neoucom.UUCP
