There are a variety of junk companies around here in the Valley
[Santa Clara, Halted: [Hal Ted] is one, and there are many others].
A few companies are rather sensitive that some of their equipment gets
picked up in such a way.  I think the greatest score I've heard was
a Xerox Alto for $100.  Needed some work, but it appeared at the last Hacker's
Conference.  Just ask around.
