Any comments on the viability, problems, virtues, etc., of using
Smalltalk to implement a commercial software product?

I have always thought of ST as a fast prototyping facility.  But
I would like to understand if and how it can be productively used
in a large (say 20 programmers) project environment.

I'd like to hear about factors related to performance, packaging,
serviceability, window/user/os interface issues, binding to other
languages, source control, portability, etc...
