A couple of months ago someone posted a lot of bug fixes for make.  These
might have been related to the ST.  I don't remember, and I also don't
remember who posted them. I am currently running an LRU memory algorithm
with fixed and limited buffer space.

Anyway, it appears that the new make does not recognize $*, whereas the old
one did.  Will the guilty party please contact me by email.  Have other people
noticed this (on Intel CPUs)?
