The reply bounced. The reference is IEEE Std 1028-1988, "IEEE Standard for Software Reviews and Audits," 10 March 1988. This is a pre-approval date, but the standard has been approved. I don't know why it isn't in the 1989 IEEE catalog, unless it's just too new. I talked to one of the people who worked on 1028, and he said he had seen it collected in a book of IEEE standards (which must supersede the current collection of IEEE software standards) from a March workshop. I guess there must be an update to the 1989 catalog coming out real soon now. Until then, just write to the IEEE Standards group or given them a call (see the catalog). -- Mark C.
