Before I start screaming wildy things like "I told you" and "Why do you folks NEVER listen to me?" at CBM and possibly get some people very upset, could you describe your problem a little more? Like, how does it jump out of the path? Horizontally, vertically? Or are there some sort of double/ghostimages of the pointer while you move it??? Does it happen on specific regions of the screen, or everywhere? Is it just the Workbench pointer, or do the custom pointers of other applications on other screens act the same? Does the same thing happen when you use the Amiga/cursor-keys combination to move the pointer? A dirty mouse could have a similar effect.
